7:00 - 8:30pm Intermediate-transition-to-Advanced Cuban Salsa & Rueda de Casino (Level 3)
This progressive series serves as a bridge class for intermediate dancers who have already completed Level 2 and are ready to step up their game. The focus is on technique, as we will provide you with insights on what advanced dancers are constantly attending to while engaging with their partner. Each 90-minute session is broken down into 3 parts - Suelta (Footwork & Movement), Casino (One-on-One Partnering), and Rueda - all danced to rhythmically dense Timba.
8:30 - 10:00pm Advanced Cuban Salsa & Rueda de Casino (Levels 4 & 5)
This 90-minute class focuses on delving deeper into the creative aspects and possibilities of Casino from Havana and Santiago de Cuba, which will include but not be limited to: advanced partnerwork (non-cumulative) with an emphasis on technique and style; Rueda: group moves and patterns (cumulative) and call/response technique; Triples: one lead/two followers, and/or two leads/one follower; Salsa Suelta: footwork, body motion, and isolations. We'll be dancing to rhythmically dense Timba as a means to combine intricate patterns with dynamic rhythmic variation (on1, on2/contra-tiempo, & on3).
